Raised in Hood River, Oregon by fourth generation Oregonians, I grew-up skiing, mountain climbing, river-running, Boy Scouting, fruit picking, lumber stacking and sailing on the Columbia River. After graduating from Willamette University in Salem, OR, and traveling around the world climbing and sking, I based in Portland. I’ve spent decades working in the international outdoor industry: brick and mortar retail, ground-up wholesale, marketing plans, media buys, copy writing, ski demos, photo shoots, trade shows and product testing. I belong to the Hood River Crag Rat mountain rescue organization and also lecture on Oregon Cascade mountaineering history.
